Human Factors Research Scientist

The Human Factors Research Scientist position is a key opportunity to contribute to a state Government-funded project within the Department of Transport and Planning. The project focuses on studying the impact of medical cannabis on real-world on-track driving. As a member of our team, you will oversee the integration of vehicle/occupant monitoring systems in a dedicated research vehicle throughout the project's duration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of data collection, processing, and analysis related to vehicle and occupant monitoring outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Design and conduct quantitative research with human participants in the field of experimental psychology, human factors, ergonomics, or similar.
- Generate insights from large volumes of data through statistical analysis and/or machine learning.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate/postgraduate/honours qualification in human factors, psychology, ergonomics, user experience (UX) research, or a related field.
- Experience in administering and delivering successful research projects.
- High degree of proficiency in scripting and/or programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, R) and version control (e.g., git).
- Demonstrated experience in designing and conducting quantitative research.
