Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join our team in Mildura, Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting daily priorities for the mining team and coordinating execution activities to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day operational direction to achieve required mining targets.
  • Review daily/weekly/monthly schedule attainment for continuous improvement purposes.
  • Ensure material balance requirements and movements are maintained.
  • Plan, develop, and implement new methods and procedures to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and optimize labor and material utilization.
  • Conduct medium and short-term planning and mine scheduling processes with a window of 3-12 months.
  • Contribute to the creation of budget physicals, forecasts, and budget.
  • Project manage satellite orebodies as required with the introduction of additional ore reserves in the medium to short-term plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering/Geology or associated field.
  • Hold a Quarry Managers certificate of competency (NSW) or currently working towards obtaining or be willing to work towards obtaining.
  • Knowledge of managing people and resources effectively with effective team building techniques.
  • Experience developing people to be empowered, adaptable, and who take ownership.
  • Capable of driving an inclusive interdependent safety culture.
  • Knowledge of working in a high-hazard environment.
  • Contract management experience.
