Sr Lawyer - Child Protection Advocate

In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. As a senior lawyer, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and representation to clients in child protection and intervention order matters. You will work closely with other professionals and community agencies to develop and implement strategies that improve client services and outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you will need to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential, with the ability to interact effectively with children and young people, as well as their parents, staff, and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality legal advice and representation to clients
• Develop and implement strategies to improve client services and outcomes
• Work closely with other professionals and community agencies to enhance community legal education
• Contribute to the professional development of the in-house legal practice by mentoring and supervising less experienced lawyers

Requirements:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven leadership abilities, with experience in supervising and mentoring junior legal staff
• Current Australian practicing certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory)
