Key Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Disability Support Officer to deliver exceptional care and support to children and young people with disabilities.

This role involves providing full training and support to ensure the highest quality NDIS-funded programs for primary school-aged children and teens.

Key Tasks:

  • Support children and young people with intellectual disabilities to complete tasks and build their capacity towards achieving their NDIS goals.
  • Assist small groups of children and teens in displaying respectful and inclusive behavior, providing an enjoyable and safe environment for all.
  • Engage children in preprogrammed activities, play games, and promote social interaction.
  • Provide personal care, such as dressing, toileting, or other personal hygiene tasks, while ensuring the child's comfort and dignity.
  • Document observations on children's involvement in activities against their individual goals using templated documents.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Appropriate Certificate or Diploma approved by ACECQA.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (State-based).
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module.
  • NDIS Worker Check and WWCC.
  • First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain).
  • Evidence of COVID 19 Immunisations and booster.
  • Experience in the profession and evidence of involvement in clinical supervision and professional development as required by the associated body.
