About the Role:

The successful candidate will have the ability to promote total job safety and environmental awareness among employees, subcontractors, and all persons in the vicinity of the construction site. They will ensure that safe working methods and practices are implemented, and that sufficient plant and equipment is made available to facilitate proper access and enable any operation to be carried out safely.

Organizing and coordinating construction activities in accordance with construction schedules is a key responsibility, along with continually monitoring the status of planning, safety, environmental, and quality activities. The candidate will interact regularly with subordinate staff and, where necessary, weekly employees to ensure efficient and productive field activities.

The role also involves ensuring all activities relating to quality are performed in compliance with the requirements of relevant specifications, codes, and standards, which form part of the contract. Selecting subcontractors and suppliers based on their ability to meet specified requirements, including those for safety, quality, and environment, is another critical aspect of the position.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills and attributes: Prior experience as a Tier 1 Construction Manager in water infrastructure and civil projects; demonstrated experience combined with relative industry qualifications; demonstrated experience in delivering large complex projects; strong history of managing others, including performance management and union communication; experience in planning control processes, such as baseline, version control, importance of traceability of changes, using multiple calendars and working times; exposure to linear planning and associated communication tools like time chainage software.
