Principal Strategic Planner

We are seeking a capable and forward-thinking strategic leader to lead complex projects and contribute to the long-term vision for urban environments.
The role balances longer-term strategic thinking with practical delivery, translating adopted strategies into planning scheme amendments and coordinating input from internal specialists and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Progressing strategic planning projects through to implementation
- Managing planning scheme amendments and ensuring effective collaboration across departments including engineering, infrastructure, and community planning
This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your skills and experience in strategic planning, contributing to a multidisciplinary team of professionals who value knowledge sharing, especially during peak project periods. We require independence with collaboration when needed, adaptability to change, and strong self-awareness in a dynamic environment.
We are looking for an experienced strategic planner who can take ownership of complex projects and deliver high-quality planning outcomes. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of planning legislation, processes, and implementation pathways, with experience leading planning scheme amendments and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
The ability to interpret evolving state policy, work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, and connect strategic thinking with real-world delivery is key.
