Software Engineer for Open-Source Community Engagement

The role involves being a key member of our Developer Relations team, engaging directly with open-source communities and developer-centric organisations to communicate our vision and products for better open-source development experiences. This position combines practical engineering skills with diplomacy across organisational boundaries.

We are seeking a talented software engineer who has a strong passion for and engagement in open-source software. The ideal candidate will have worked with real-world challenges developing and deploying software using Linux and have hands-on experience of Linux software packaging. They should also understand current software packing issues and trends in the Linux ecosystem.

  • Take part in team product meetings and contribute insight and expertise">
  • Maintain conversations with developer community members on various platforms">
  • Work with colleagues in other teams to establish commonality and consistent approaches">
  • Help solve specific technical problems">
  • Contribute to technical documentation">
  • Work on technical articles, presentations or workshops">
  • Identify new opportunities and directions for improvement">
  • Present at conferences, meetups or technical events">
