Job Description

About this role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Speech Pathologist to work in our Coastal Victoria clinic.

The Role Includes:

  • Paediatric outpatients (approximately 80% of the caseload)
  • Adult outpatients
  • Ward-based (covering acute and subacute wards)
  • Aged-care facility

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive speech pathology services, including assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans for clients with various communication disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, taking into account the client's needs, goals, and progress
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for clients
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of client progress, including assessment results, treatment plans, and follow-up appointments
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal outcomes and client satisfaction

Key Requirements:

  • Possession of a tertiary qualification and accreditation as a Speech Pathologist with membership or eligibility for membership with relevant professional body
  • Post Graduate clinical qualification(s) in speciality area of practice
  • Extensive clinical knowledge, skills and leadership experience in speech pathology
  • Demonstrated sound advanced clinical assessment and analysis skills and knowledge, and ability to implement indicated treatments for individuals and groups
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Understanding of relevant systems and frameworks, and demonstrated ability to manage continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrated understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of people from diverse backgrounds

Work Details:

  • Contract Hours: 64-72 hours per fortnight
  • Roster: Monday to Friday 0830-1700
  • Grade 2 level role
  • Locum rates
