About the Role:

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects within the Nova Systems Geospatial team, leading the development of software and geospatial solutions. Your key objectives will be to contribute to successful and profitable project outcomes, ensuring high client satisfaction, and providing general management support to the Regional Business Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage project delivery using Agile and/or software development life cycle (SDLC) techniques, ensuring adherence to established project management methodologies.
  • Support the bid lead and regional business manager with bid development and costing.
  • Engage regularly with Technical Leads to ensure technical aspects of project delivery follow best practice approaches and technical work is of high quality.
  • Identify and initiate future opportunities for projects or other business for the Nova Systems Geospatial BU.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), sprint plans, and agile backlogs.
  • Manage the financial integrity of all projects under your guidance.
  • Undertake key client consultation, business analysis, and engagement management.
  • Ensure the project team has the necessary resources and working environment to undertake their roles.
  • Manage GIS project delivery to ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collaborate with the regional business manager to ensure efficient use of resources, regional team management, business development, and account management when required.
  • Engage with Corporate and Project Support Officers (CSO, PSO) to ensure invoice milestones are met and work completed is invoiced in a timely manner.
  • Undertake successful interactions with client stakeholders, third-party organisations, and other internal project teams.
  • Contribute to project activities such as meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars, and presentations.

Requirements:

  • You must be an Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in managing software development projects using Agile delivery methods is essential.
  • A Certified Scrum Master qualification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a team to achieve project objectives.
  • Strong presentation skills with demonstrated experience in negotiation and influencing.
  • GIS project experience is desirable.
