Job Vacancy

An exciting opportunity exists for a qualified Electrician to join our maintenance team in Mackay, reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. The main objective for this role is to:

  • Carry out scheduled maintenance as per equipment strategies.
  • Maintain production output by carrying out reactive and corrective maintenance as required.
  • Guide, oversee and monitor the preventative maintenance (PM) execution tasks completed by operator/maintainers.
  • Complete work order data to the required standards
  • Provide out of hours break-down cover as required by Roster.
  • Maintain acceptable levels of housekeeping during and after execution of maintenance tasks.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will possess:

Qualifications

  • Trade qualified Electrical fitter
  • Queensland Electrical License holder. (Low voltage)
  • Instrument qualifications / experience desirable.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years maintenance / installation experience in manufacturing or heavy industries - Sugar Industry experience is an advantage
  • Industrial plant experience (Non HV)
  • Experience within food manufacturing / packing plant desirable.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement or lean principles is desirable

The candidate will have strong technical skills as well as, excellent interpersonal skills, planning and organisational skills. They will be a self-starter who is passionate about best practice and working part of a team. They will have a curiosity to learn and develop their career.
