The ER/HR Specialist will provide in-depth case management support to Heads of School, Business Partners and Faculty across performance management and resolution of complex matters.
The successful candidate will have tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and significant experience in delivering effective case management, providing employee relations advice to line management, and dealing with employee unions in a large, complex organisation.
About the Role- Provide expert case management support to Heads of School, Business Partners and Faculty
- Coordinating specialist advice, and where necessary, conducting investigations to ensure objective and fair assessment in compliance with employment legislation
- Contribute to the review and development of policies and processes regarding the framework for ER case management including diagnostic and reporting tools, templates, checklists, toolkits and other guiding materials
- Evaluate advice and actions to comply with applicable legislation and relevant industrial instruments to mitigate risk and ensure appropriate resolution
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Significant experience in delivering effective case management, providing employee relations advice to line management, and dealing with employee unions in a large, complex organisation
- Influencing, building strong working relationships and gaining trust from senior stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and effective writing and documentation skills
- Ability to interact with, consult, coach and advise senior stakeholders
- Capacity to plan, achieve priority outcomes and respond flexibly to changing circumstances
- Generalist HR/ER knowledge and experience gained in unionised environments
- Specialist and up-to-date employment relations and employment law knowledge, skills and experience
- Knowledge and capacity to interpret legislation, industrial agreements and policies to implement appropriate guidance and advice frameworks as well as ability to facilitate increased HR and leader capability to foster an effective and high-performing workplace culture
