We are seeking an experienced Therapeutic Support Manager to lead our team of support workers in providing therapeutic care to children and young people in our Out of Home Care services.

About the Role

This is a Full-Time Permanent Position located in Newcastle, NSW. As a Therapeutic Support Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Therapeutic Youth Workers, providing excellent support, supervision, and coaching to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.

  • Manage rosters and staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage and efficient resource allocation
  • Co-ordinate the day-to-day care of children and young people, ensuring their needs are met and documented appropriately
  • Monitor the implementation of documentation, plans, and reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure quality life story work is maintained by Therapeutic Youth Workers
  • Manage informal and formal complaints and feedback to maintain a positive service environment
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required
Key Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Relevant management experience in Children and Young People in Out Of Home Care, particularly those with complex care needs due to trauma-based backgrounds
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Education)
  • Proven experience in managing staff who regularly face crisis situations
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, Out of Home Care Standards, policies, and procedures
  • Cultural competence and ability to apply culturally appropriate practices with Aboriginal and culturally diverse communities
  • Excellent communication, administration, and computer literacy skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
