About the Role:


This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Case Manager - Youth Services. As a key member of our YSS program, you will work with young people aged 10-18 who are at risk of entering the youth justice system. Your primary goal will be to divert them away from this system and work with them to achieve better life outcomes.



Salary:


The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary at SCHCADS level 5, equivalent to approximately $94,000 per year, plus flexible working arrangements up to 5.3 increments (dependent upon experience).



Key Responsibilities:


As a Case Manager - Youth Services, your key responsibilities will include:



  • Working with young people who are at risk of entering the statutory youth justice system through first contact with Victoria police or young people that are under Youth Justice supervision.
  • Using a strength-based approach that aims to empower young people and their families to achieve short- and long-term goals that divert them from the justice system.
  • Making sure goals are developed with the young person based on; family relationships, primary and mental health, education or training needs, life skills and identification.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A degree or diploma in Social Work, Welfare or equivalent studies (e.g., Youth Studies, Counselling, Psychology etc.).
  • A minimum of 2 years case management experience.
  • Commitment to and understanding of culturally competent practice and service delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly engage with young people and families in a planned, outcomes-driven model.
  • Well-developed skills, including report writing, case notes, and the use of a range of electronic data systems and time management skills.
