Job Opportunity

We are seeking a talented research professional to join our team as a Senior Research Associate.

The role will involve undertaking research in asymptotic, algorithmic and/or probabilistic combinatorics, with a focus on hypergraphs.

As part of this role, you will collaborate with the project team, contribute to writing research articles for publication, present results at international and local conferences, and undertake other research and administration tasks arising from the project.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a completed PhD in a relevant area of mathematics or theoretical computer science.

Expert knowledge in asymptotic, algorithmic or probabilistic combinatorics is essential, as is high level analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required, along with an understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Undertake research in asymptotic, algorithmic and/or probabilistic combinatorics
  2. Collaborate with the project team
  3. Contribute to writing research articles for publication
  4. Present results at international and local conferences
  5. Undertake other research and administration tasks arising from the project

Requirements

  • Completed PhD in a relevant area of mathematics or theoretical computer science
  • Expert knowledge in asymptotic, algorithmic or probabilistic combinatorics
  • High level analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
