Job Summary:

  • A skilled heavy vehicle technician is required to work on a diverse range of commercial vehicles, encompassing routine servicing, complex diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • To effectively complete general servicing on a broad spectrum of commercial vehicles, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and industry standards.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and rectify faults in heavy vehicles.
  • Perform regular maintenance and inspections to prevent mechanical failures and ensure optimal performance.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy vehicle engines, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-effective solutions.
  • Repair, replace, and reassemble parts for commercial vehicles, utilizing technical expertise and knowledge of vehicle systems.
  • Test and fine-tune vehicle components to guarantee satisfactory performance and reliability.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Certificate III or equivalent AQF Certificate III, including at least two years of on-the-job training, or an AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3).
  • A minimum of one year's experience working on commercial vehicles.
  • C manual and HR license desirable.
  • A strong work ethic, high motivation, and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of workshop practices, WHS standards, and quality management principles.
