About the Role:

The Operational Analyst is a key contributor to the Gas Services Portfolio, responsible for developing tools, mechanisms, and reports to manage forecasting and resourcing. This role coordinates monthly forecasts, monitors variances, and provides detailed variance analysis to identify potential risk scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate financial forecasts, establish baselines, and facilitate change management for the Gas Services Portfolio.
  • Develop and support tools required for forecasting programs by WBS, activity, and region.
  • Develop mechanisms and reports to analyse program financials, including budgets, unit rates, run rates, commitments, and accrual/cost pass-through activities.
  • Monitor program performance across the business and liaise with other regions to optimise synergies and improve long-term cost efficiencies.
  • Provide visibility of potential risk scenarios and management strategies related to the program of work.
  • Provide reliable data and reports for review by delivery teams to monitor programs.
  • Apply analytical skills to support the delivery of the program.
  • Drive real-time, what-to-do-next, and what-if analyses, and implement solutions.
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with Asset Management, Finance, and Delivery Teams to ensure customer expectations are met while matching Jemena's delivery capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Finance, or Business Management (desirable).
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, organisation, prioritisation, timely decision-making, delegation, and managing and measuring work.
  • Knowledge of field requirements, construction methodologies, and work practices within a utility's environment.
  • Experience developing and managing systems and tools that provide clear visibility of demand and supply status.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with multiple conflicting priorities.

About You:

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
  • Experience in utilities or industrial works.
  • Experience managing routine CAPEX and OPEX programs and projects, which involve detailed stakeholder negotiations to ensure projects occur on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated experience of implementing and/or continually improving operational processes and systems.
