Program Officer Role

We are seeking a highly organized and creative Program Officer to develop and deliver a range of performances, programs, and events for a diverse audience.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating an annual program of events, collaborating with artists, co-producers, and partners, and managing event logistics. This is a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and make a significant impact in the community.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement an annual artistic season of performances, programs, and events that engage and inspire our audience.
  • Curate and deliver a season of school holiday programs that promote and supplement existing activities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify trends and audience insights, develop content and partnership opportunities, and refine program strategies.
  • Work with managers to negotiate and coordinate contracts and agreements with artists, co-presenters, and other stakeholders.
  • Deliver regular reporting requirements with attention to detail.
  • Monitor program and event budgets to ensure all events are delivered within budget.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have a background in theatre or performing arts and some experience in project or event management. You will be comfortable liaising with diverse stakeholders, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Essential Experience:

  • Extensive programming experience for performing arts, festivals, events, and/or venues.
  • A high level of arts administration knowledge and experience across a wide range of projects in a multidisciplinary arts and cultural environment.
  • A sound understanding of the national performing arts industry and arts venue management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders including schools, residents, community organizations, and government officials.
  • Qualifications in Arts, Arts Management, Events, or a relevant discipline, or suitable experience in related fields.
