About the Role

At Thomson Geer, we are seeking a skilled Lawyer to join our Resolution, Recoveries and Disputes team in Melbourne. As a key member of our team, you will work on a wide range of small business recovery and disputes matters, assisting senior members with varied tasks including loan and security reviews, advising on enforcement and regulatory issues, and preparing default notices and pleadings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct loan and security reviews to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Provide expert advice on enforcement and regulatory issues to ensure compliance and minimize risk
  • Prepare and review default notices, demands, pleadings, and general correspondence to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
  • Carry out defended and undefended claims to protect our clients' interests
  • Conduct research to stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations
  • Attend Court to represent our clients and advocate for their interests
Requirements
  • 2-3 years post-admission experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills to identify and analyze complex issues
  • Committed and intelligent approach to work, with a high level of attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the confidence to communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels
