Disability Support Specialist

We are seeking highly motivated and empathetic Disability Support Specialists to join our team across South East Queensland.

This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about providing personalised supports that build independence, confidence, and community connection.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Specialist, you will work with NDIS participants in various settings, including daily living, community access, supported independent living, short-term accommodation, and group activities.

  • Daily Living (in-home supports)
  • Community Access
  • Supported Independent Living (SIL)
  • Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
  • Group Activities

Your responsibilities may include supporting participants with personal care, preparing meals, attending appointments, medication prompts, developing life skills, or engaging in community and social activities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide assistance with daily living tasks, such as personal care and meal preparation
  2. Support participants in accessing community facilities and services
  3. Assist with behaviour support and crisis management
  4. Develop and maintain positive relationships with participants, their families, and other stakeholders
  5. Contribute to the development of participant-centred plans and support strategies
Requirements
  • Qualification in Individual Support (Disability) or relevant experience
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Blue Card
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle insurance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Emotional intelligence and resilience
