Director of Privacy – Job Overview

Our company seeks an experienced professional to lead our privacy program, working closely with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to drive customer privacy initiatives. This position involves partnering with data engineering and analytics teams to ensure compliance with global privacy regulations and frameworks.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of global privacy regulations and frameworks, as well as experience collaborating with business stakeholders and legal teams to advise on privacy engineering and technical implementation of privacy controls. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for distilling complex legal and technical concepts for leadership audiences.

This role offers the opportunity to shape the company's privacy program, identifying and developing strategies for privacy engineering and privacy-enhancing technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the company remains compliant with evolving global privacy regulations and frameworks.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with Privacy teammates, Trust Engineering, and Data Governance teams to design and implement technical solutions and controls for privacy requirements.
• Advise data engineering and analytics teams on privacy considerations for customer data lifecycle and use, including AI and machine learning.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership (including trust, compliance, and others) on customer privacy initiatives.
• Scale the privacy program by identifying and developing strategies for privacy engineering and privacy-enhancing technologies.

Requirements:
• Necessary qualifications to practice law in your local jurisdiction.
• 6+ years practicing law.
• Deep knowledge of global privacy regulations and frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.).
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders and legal teammates to advise on privacy engineering and technical implementation of privacy controls.
• Experience distilling complex legal and technical concepts for leadership audiences.
