About the Role

The Central Sterilising Department Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring the effectiveness of sterilisation services at our hospital. This position is responsible for coordinating and collaborating with the team to clean, decontaminate, assemble, and dispense surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the cleaning, decontamination, and assembly of surgical instruments and equipment
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure the efficient operation of sterilisation services
  • Monitor and maintain the quality of sterilised instruments and equipment
  • Provide support to the clinical team in the theatre complex

Requirements

  • Certificate III or IV in Health Services Assistance (Sterilising Services) or willingness to obtain
  • Working knowledge of sterilisation and Infection Control standards
  • Ability to fulfill manual tasks and meet the physical demands of the role
  • Sound knowledge of surgical instruments and their care
  • Sound communication and computer skills
