Role Overview
The Delinquent Debt Manager will be responsible for driving the financial health of our credit portfolios through effective delinquency and debt recovery strategy management.
This role requires a subject matter expert in collections who can develop and implement data-driven credit risk strategies to minimize losses while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
You will work closely with operations and technology teams to ensure efficient operations, exceptional customer service, and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Develop a comprehensive three-year strategy with an annual roadmap and lead quarterly business reviews to drive business growth and profitability.
- Lead a high-performing team of analysts in designing, implementing, and monitoring credit risk strategies that align with our business objectives.
- Analyse delinquency data and performance trends to identify opportunities for strategy optimisations and operational efficiencies.
- Manage and share key data insights on delinquency and loss performance against targets.
- Foster strong collaboration with Collections Operations and Hardship teams to deliver seamless execution of collections strategy and operational effectiveness of debt and customer management.
- Be responsible for debt sale management, including optimizing our debt sale strategy, maintaining governance, and ensuring all forward flow and inventory tenders are completed.
- Manage key strategic relationships with advisory/debt management partners.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on financial reporting, forecasting, and budget planning.
- E nsure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain high ethical standards in all collection activities.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A solid background in designing and implementing data-driven credit risk strategies within the financial services industry for consumer credit portfolios.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in a numeric discipline or related field.
- Experience working with collections industry associations is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
