Job Title: Shot Peen Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and manufacture components using engineering drawings
  • Competently operate machinery within the department and in other departments if/when required
  • Undertake department processes in a controlled and timely manner
  • Adhere to department standards and create records including quality certificates and process sheets
  • Maintain and carry out preventative maintenance programmes to all equipment
  • Advise on tooling, jigs and fixtures
  • Undertake personal development reviews, training and assessments
  • Observe Health and Safety rules at all times

Our ideal candidate will have experience working with shot peening technology and be skilled in operating machinery. They should also be able to work well in a team environment and possess strong problem-solving skills.

As a Shot Peen Technician, you will be responsible for shot peening components to required specifications using both nozzle & wheel machines. You will also be responsible for verifying the process by performing saturation curves, intensity checks (Almen strips), building coverage & shot shape/size checks.

In addition to your technical skills, you should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will need to be able to work effectively with colleagues and management to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
