Assistant Library Director

The Assistant Library Director is a key member of the library team, responsible for overseeing library operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to patrons. This role requires a strong understanding of library principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee library circulation staff and operations, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Assist the Library Director with budgeting, personnel management, materials acquisitions, and facilities management.
- Manage the library in the absence of the Director and provide technical support to staff and patrons.
- Perform administrative duties, including payroll, invoicing, staff scheduling, and financial reporting.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field.
- A minimum of three years of progressive professional experience in library work, including at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of library principles and practices, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, patrons, and other stakeholders.
