Welcome to the Clinical Education Specialist role at Friendly Society Private Hospital

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Clinical Education Specialist in the acute hospital setting.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Nurse Unit Managers, Learning and Development team, and wider hospital clinical team to plan and facilitate education programs for new graduates and existing clinical employees.

This role is focused on providing education, training, skills, knowledge, guidance, and clinical support to new graduates and existing clinical employees during their transition to the acute hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-day duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Facilitating learning opportunities for Graduate RNs or EENs undertaking a clinical rotation
  • Assisting with the transition of other clinical employees to the acute hospital setting (Medical & Surgical)
  • Identifying and responding to the learning needs of individuals and acting as a resource for graduates
  • Assessing graduate competence in clinical procedures using clinical assessment tools
  • Participating in the delivery of formal and informal education sessions
  • Supporting other clinical staff involved in further education, presentations, and in-services

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing and current registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and educate using adult learning principles and facilitation skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships that enhance patient-centered care
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills
