About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trades Assistant to join our team at UGL's Maintenance and Manufacturing business in Broadmeadow, Newcastle. As a key member of our mining components division, you will work alongside our trades team to assist with component assembly and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the disassembly and assembly of components, including overhauls and maintenance tasks.
  • Complete and maintain quality documentation, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support trades with various tasks, including cleaning, inspecting, and operating equipment.
  • Operate Forklift trucks from 5t to 25t, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently, adhering to UGL's safety protocols.
  • Operate 13T site truck for routine deliveries and pickups, maintaining a high level of professionalism.

About You:

We are looking for a team player with strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to learn on the job. Key qualifications and experience include:

  • Essential:
    • Forklift Licence
    • HR Licence
  • Desirable:
    • Competency in overhead/gantry crane operation
    • Dogging and rigging experience
    • Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or Labourer in a heavy industry environment
    • Wash bay operation experience
