About the Role


We are seeking a Digital Payment Experience Strategist to join our team within Retail Banking Services (RBS) at Commonwealth Bank.


This is an exciting opportunity to drive the digital payments experience in the CommBank App and NetBank, working with a passionate Crew who prioritizes delivering safe, secure, and innovative experiences for customers.


Key Responsibilities



  • Taking ownership of the product roadmap for digital payment experiences across NetBank and the CommBank App, focusing on a build once, use many approach.
  • Leading delivery of digital payment experiences, inspiring the team from ideation to execution and beyond.
  • Aligning business technology strategy with future vision and capability, ensuring resiliency and availability.
  • Acting as the voice of the business and customer, translating their needs for the team to coordinate a 'one-team' approach to problem-solving.
  • Providing clear lines of communication with stakeholders on product roadmaps and prioritization decisions.
  • Identifying, articulating, and managing risks and compliance across streams of work.
  • Incorporating design thinking and analytics to inform product design.
  • Developing the product roadmap, engaging senior stakeholders and business units to manage delivery.
  • Managing the squad day-to-day to deliver change and lifecycle activities.
  • Maintaining a healthy prioritized backlog to deliver business and customer outcomes.
  • Managing senior business and technical stakeholders to ensure prioritization understanding and agreement.
  • Driving OKR tracking and measuring performance against defined objectives.
  • Addressing impediments, driving decisions, and resolving escalations.
  • Understanding how to measure experience initiatives using data and insights for optimization and future opportunities.

Your Background


We're interested in hearing from experienced Product Owners with strong knowledge of payments, passion for digital experiences, and leadership skills. Preferred candidates will have financial services experience, especially in designing and executing digital experiences.


Candidates should be able to balance strategic initiatives with keep-the-lights-on work, be passionate about building digital payment experiences, and champion the voice of customers. Prior experience as a Product Owner in this space is highly desirable.


The successful candidate will have a proven track record in influencing work and priorities through stakeholders, leading teams, and working within Agile methodologies.
