Lead Mechanical Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic Maintenance and Utilities – Maintenance Services Team.

The role will involve providing maintenance and engineering solutions to improve plant and equipment reliability, leading and managing a mechanical trades team, and ensuring preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide maintenance and engineering solutions to improve plant and equipment reliability
  • Lead and manage a mechanical trades team
  • Ensure preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities are performed safely and efficiently
  • Investigate process, plant, and equipment failures, determine the cause of failure, and develop permanent solutions
  • Provide technical advice in manufacturing facilities on-site
  • Develop close working relationships with personnel in operations, electrical & instrumentation, system owner group, planning & support group, and quality
  • Maintain training and documentation relevant to the mechanical team

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, electromechanical or process engineering
  • Experience in a batch manufacturing environment, specifically in filling / packaging / palletising
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a maintenance engineering position
  • Experience in a GMP environment would be an advantage, but is not essential
  • Previous experience in a supervisory role overseeing contractors or trades
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems and familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS)
