About this role:
- We are seeking a skilled Emergency Medicine Specialist to join our dynamic consultant team in a tertiary referral ED that serves as the major emergency hub for North Queensland.
- The successful candidate will work across adult and paediatric zones, the short stay unit, and contribute to aeromedical retrieval coordination for North Queensland.
You will have the opportunity to broaden your paediatric exposure, contribute to retrieval medicine, or make a meaningful impact in aged care outreach — our ED offers unmatched diversity and challenge.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-performing team and contribute to delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver expert clinical care across a mixed adult and paediatric ED
- Provide consultation and advice to patients, families, and colleagues
- Participate in aeromedical coordination for the Northern Zone (credentialing required)
- Engage in outreach through the Frailty Intervention Team
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, peer review, and audit
- Maintain CPD and work within your awarded Scope of Clinical Practice
- Ensure high-quality clinical documentation and mentor junior medical staff
- You will have the opportunity to broaden your paediatric exposure
- Contribute to retrieval medicine
- Make a meaningful impact in aged care outreach
