Environmental Compliance Investigator
In this position, you will investigate potential environmental violations across diverse media. You will provide guidance to responsible parties and concerned citizens to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations.
The role involves performing various tasks such as desk audits, field inspections, sample collection, and report writing. You will also make risk-based determinations on actions to resolve violations and recommend enforcement approaches.
A key aspect of this job is collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including attorneys, consultants, and partner agencies, to facilitate compliance and resolution of violations.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:- Bachelor's of Science degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Health Science, or any field related to environmental program management.
- Two years of environmentally related work experience involving field work with preferred skills in environmental sampling and interpretation of analytical results.
- Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication.
- Occupational experience with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, and Excel, Teams, etc), Adobe Acrobat, GPS, digital camera, and scientific sampling and/or monitoring equipment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Level 200 Incident Command System (ICS) training.
- Current valid Driver's License and clean driving record in accordance with State Vehicle Use Policy.
