About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Protection Specialist to join our Leadership Team at Childcare and Kindergarten Association. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in strengthening our child-safe culture and driving our commitment to child safeguarding and child protection.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and review our safeguarding framework, systems, and policies to ensure the highest standards of child protection.
  • Design and implement an organizational strategy for end-to-end safeguarding processes, ensuring seamless integration across all departments.
  • Contribute to child safety and safeguarding reviews, analyzing best practices, identifying gaps, and recommending mitigation strategies for future actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of potential vulnerability, develop strategies to mitigate risk, and ensure corrective actions are coordinated across the organization.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior leaders and executive management on safeguarding and child protection matters.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of complex incidents and provide remedial recommendations.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree qualification in early childhood education, social work, psychology, welfare, or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of Child Protection related legislation, regulations, and best practice.
  • Deep understanding of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Framework.
  • Proven experience in putting knowledge into practice within organizations, ideally at scale.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly ascertain concerns for children's safety and wellbeing.
  • Active Blue Card and Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
