About Our Team

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Assistant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering high-quality food and beverage services in a fast-paced aged care environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safe provision of quality food and beverages to our residents, taking into account individual nutritional requirements and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation, serving, presentation, and delivery of food and beverages;
  • Ensuring that the correct food and beverages are served to each resident according to their dietary/specialised nutritional requirements;
  • Maintaining high standards of customer service and presenting in a professional manner at all times when interacting with residents during meal services;
  • Providing assistance to residents when requested and escalating any complaints or concerns as necessary;
  • Communicating effectively with residents, resident representatives, and staff;
  • Ensuring that meals are delivered within a timely and efficient manner to ensure freshness and quality;
  • Complying with company policy and HACCP Food Safety Standards, including wearing designated PPE when preparing and serving food;
  • Ensuring that dining rooms are cleared, food trays are removed from residents' rooms, and dishes and cleaning are conducted in accordance with our Food Safety Program policy and procedure.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Prior experience in Aged Care (desirable);
  • Hospitality front-of-house experience;
  • The ability to read and interpret dietary information;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Demonstrated organisational and time management skills;
  • The ability to comply with safe work practices and food handling practices;
  • A commitment to providing a caring and empathetic service to our residents while respecting their privacy, choices, and cultural preferences;
  • An understanding of the principles of Workplace Health & Safety and a commitment to ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff;
  • The ability to build and foster strong working relationships and work well as part of a team;
  • A commitment to ensuring resident needs are always met by being available and reliable for all rostered shifts.

What We Offer

This casual position offers a fixed shift schedule and a competitive hourly rate of $24.28 per hour. The ideal candidate will be able to commute or relocate to Rothwell, QLD 4022.

Qualifications

A Certificate I-IV is preferred but not essential. Previous food service experience is required.

Work Authorisation

The successful applicant must hold current work authorisation in Australia.
