Children and youth services are a vital part of a dynamic library environment. As a Librarian for Children and Youth, you will play a key role in engaging young minds and fostering a love for learning.Randwick City Council is a leading local government organisation serving our vibrant community with innovative services, such as libraries that provide access to information, education and entertainment.This role involves developing and delivering engaging children and youth programs, creating a welcoming environment for library visitors and contributing to the selection and purchase of junior and young adult collections.You will also represent the library at events and outreach activities, promoting literacy and a love for reading among children and young people.The ideal candidate will have experience in children and youth library services, strong communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to lead a team and work independently.We foster a high-performance culture through integrity, customer focus, accountability, respect and excellence, encouraging equity, diversity and inclusion for our employees and community.In this role, you will be responsible for:- Developing and delivering engaging children and youth programs that promote literacy and a love for reading

- Contributing to the selection and purchase of junior and young adult collections that meet the needs of the community
- Representing the library at events and outreach activities, such as book festivals, author talks and literacy workshops
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve goals and objectivesThe requirements for this role include:- Experience in children and youth library services, including program development and delivery
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and individuals
- Ability to lead a team and work independently, with minimal supervision
