Job Description

This position is located in the Kemerton Lithium Refinery at Wellesley WA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead adherence to safety standards and contribute to improving frontline site safety.

  • Evaluate best practices from global sites, corporate policies and standards, and relevant directives and lessons learned to inform decision-making at Kemerton.

  • Identify process hazards to the process safety team and support correction of hazards. Participate in HAZOP's and consult on assigned corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with the Process Technology team, Engineering department, and Operations Team to enhance production, quality, and safety.

  • Develop technology improvements within Kemerton Refinery by conducting test work, plant trials, arranging vendor support, and designing process engineering.

  • Explore process alternatives to optimize plant operation and debottlenecking.

  • Participate in value engineering, constructability, risk reviews and maintenance of the risks register where applicable.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgy.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in chemical processing.

  • Self-motivated, organized, trustworthy and adaptable.

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills for process operations and design.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

  • Ability to plan daily activities, manage priorities and eliminate non-value added activities.
