Job Description

We are seeking an experienced ETL Developer to join our organization. The successful candidate will work on a 12-month fixed-term contract, developing and maintaining robust ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading.

The ETL Developer will be responsible for communicating with business analysts and SMEs to define, understand, and document business requirements. They will also design, code, and document complex programs and scripts from agreed specifications, using agreed standards and tools.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an ETL developer using DataStage, SQL, TOAD/DB Visualiser, and DWH. They will also have knowledge of RDBMS databases such as DB2, data modelling, and experience in dimensional modelling.

The ETL Developer will work closely with the team to assess the availability and usability of data and determine the most appropriate technique for analysis. They will prepare data for analysis (cleansing and transformation), manipulate, explore, and model data using programming languages and complex techniques.

The successful candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to draw out key insights for stakeholders. They will also be able to communicate insights in a clear and concise manner in a range of formats for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an ETL developer using DataStage, SQL, TOAD/DB Visualiser, and DWH.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS databases such as DB2, data modelling, and experience in dimensional modelling.
  • Knowledge of DataStage Administrator components and experience using JIRA in an Agile environment.
  • Proven experience in the planning and execution of projects.
  • Relevant qualification in information management, ICT, IT, or related discipline.
