Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Science Teacher to join our team at Port Melbourne Secondary College. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality science education to students in Years 7-12, and contributing to the development and implementation of the science curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess science lessons to students in Years 7-12, using a range of teaching strategies and technologies.
  • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive science programs that cater to diverse student needs and abilities.
  • Assess student learning and progress, using a range of assessment strategies and tools.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide science initiatives and programs.
  • Participate in professional learning and development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and stay up-to-date with best practices in science education.
Requirements
  • Provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
  • Qualifications and experience in teaching science to students in Years 7-12.
  • Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum: Science and the Australian Curriculum: Science.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to use technology to enhance teaching and learning, including learning management systems and educational software.
