Hervey Bay, Australia Fraser Coast Regional Council Full time

Finding a role that matches your passion for corporate strategy and governance can be challenging, but here is an opportunity to take charge of high-profile initiatives.

The Corporate Strategy Advisor position at Fraser Coast Regional Council offers the chance to lead impactful projects and guide an organisation towards governance excellence. In this dynamic role, you will provide expert advice and support across a wide range of governance matters.

Key responsibilities include driving the implementation and ongoing development of council's corporate and operational planning and reporting processes. You will also lead staff and community workshops to ensure stakeholders are appropriately consulted in the preparation and review of corporate and operational planning documentation.

Additional duties include ensuring that council meets its statutory reporting obligations in accordance with legislative and council reporting cycles, leading the review, development, and management of policy and procedure in various areas, researching and interpreting legislation to provide specialist advice, and actively contributing to the development, delivery, and maintenance of governance tools and resources.

To succeed in this role, you will need experience in governance in a local government context or a similar discipline. A proven ability to critically evaluate information, plan and coordinate complex projects and processes, and develop innovative solutions is essential.

In addition, you should have extensively developed interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide high-level specialist advice and produce reports and documentation for various stakeholders. Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound initiative and judgment, and meet and manage competing priorities is also required.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in how we operate and deliver value to our stakeholders. If you are ready to lead impactful projects and guide an organisation towards governance excellence, then apply for this exciting role.
