Kitchen Support – Assistant Cook

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated individuals to join our Food Services team as Kitchen Support - Assistant Cooks. This hands-on role involves preparing and packing meals, handling food safely, assisting with special dietary needs, and maintaining a clean, hygienic kitchen.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a supportive team making a real difference in the hospital and aged care community. Applicants have availability to work a range of shifts as required between 6.30 am and 7pm, across 7 days a week including public holidays.

As a Kitchen Support Assistant, you'll play an important role in delivering safe, nutritious meals to patients and residents by following the food safety plan and healthy choices guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have commercial cooking experience and be looking for a varied and interesting work environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in food service environment including basic food handling and organisation.
  • Current Safe Food Handling Certificate and knowledge of dietary requirements is desirable.
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene including temperature, cross-contamination and cleaning protocols.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, standing for long periods and moving equipment.
