WHS Specialist

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced WHS Specialist to join our team. As a WHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and customers.

• Health and Safety Management: Manage the health and safety function at our facilities, including supervision of staff and ensuring delivery of objectives.
• Collaborative Projects: Proactively engage in collaborative health and safety projects across the site.
• Advice and Guidance: Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and Global Standards.
• Procedure Development: Develop local site WHS procedures and processes to meet Amazon Global Standards.
• Risk Assessments: Completion of risk assessments related to WHS hazards.
• Performance Measurement: Measure sites' performance against published requirements in safety policies.
• Incident Investigation: Facilitate incident investigation process.
• Record-Keeping: Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations.
• Safety Training: Train and assist others (Area Managers, safety team members, WHS coordinators etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities.

• Experience: 1+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience.
• Certification: Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
• Skills: Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity, experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace.
