About the RoleAmazon is seeking a highly skilled and experienced WHS Specialist to join our team. As a WHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety Management: Manage the health and safety function at our facilities, including supervision of staff and ensuring delivery of objectives.
- Collaborative Projects: Proactively engage in collaborative health and safety projects across the site.
- Advice and Guidance: Provide authoritative advice and guidance on health & safety matters to all stakeholders within designated area of responsibility.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable Amazon WHS Policies and Global Standards.
- Procedure Development: Develop local site WHS procedures and processes to meet Amazon Global Standards.
- Risk Assessments: Completion of risk assessments related to WHS hazards.
- Performance Measurement: Measure sites' performance against published requirements in safety policies.
- Incident Investigation: Facilitate incident investigation process.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain required paperwork to comply with Amazon and local regulations.
- Safety Training: Train and assist others (Area Managers, safety team members, WHS coordinators etc.) to complete their safety responsibilities.
- Experience: 1+ years of workplace health & safety (WHS) related field experience.
- Certification: Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety.
- Skills: Experience using Microsoft Word in a professional capacity, experience maintaining confidentiality in matters involving security or personnel issues in the workplace.
