About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Psychologist to join our team at the State of Washington's Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS). As a Forensic Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing expert evaluations and testimony in court proceedings, working closely with our team to ensure the highest level of service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive forensic evaluations, including competency to stand trial and mental state at the time of the offense assessments.
  • Collaborate with forensic evaluators across the state to ensure consistency and quality in evaluation processes.
  • Testify in court proceedings, presenting expert opinions and evidence-based evaluations.
  • Develop and implement training programs for external partners, interns, and postdoctoral trainees.

Requirements:

  • Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) or Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology (Ph.D.)
  • Licensed or eligible to obtain a license in Washington to practice psychology.
  • Strong clinical skills in interviewing, diagnostic clarification, and report writing.
  • Experience in forensic settings, with knowledge of psychometric testing and risk assessment measures.
  • Ability to establish collegial relationships with internal and external partners.
