We are seeking a highly motivated and fashion-conscious Optical Assistant to join our team at St Kilda Eyecare, a boutique optometry practice in the heart of Acland Street.

The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills and a keen eye for detail. They will be responsible for assisting patients with eyewear selection, providing expert advice on styles and trends, and supporting optometrists in patient care and optical dispensing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and build strong relationships with patients.
  • Assist patients with eyewear selection, offering personalized recommendations on styles and trends.
  • Support optometrists in patient care and optical dispensing, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of services.
  • Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Participate in merchandising, maintaining a visually appealing store environment that showcases high-quality fashion eyewear.
  • Cultivate long-term growth within the team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience in an optical setting, preferably in a similar role or related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Passion for fashion and a keen understanding of current trends, with the ability to advise patients on stylish and functional eyewear options.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Flexible availability, including weekdays and Saturdays, with a commitment to meeting business needs.
