Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Community Development Professional to join our team in Claymore and Campbelltown LGAs. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing initiatives that improve early childhood wellbeing and support the needs of local communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster partnerships with local stakeholders to understand community assets, needs, and opportunities
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve service capacity and reach in the local area
  • Support and advise community partners on accessing funding and establishing administration structures
  • Maintain extensive networks with stakeholders, including community members, other Benevolent Society programs, business, government departments, and service providers
Requirements
  • Degree qualification in community services, social work, or similar, or a minimum of five years' community development experience
  • Previous experience in a similar role or working with external partners to achieve shared objectives
  • Excellent understanding of community development theory and practices
  • Knowledge of risk and safety issues, such as drug and alcohol use, domestic violence, mental health issues, and homelessness
  • Understanding of diverse community needs, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, CALD, and LGBTIQ+ communities
Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a salary of $90,000 - $95,000 per annum, plus superannuation and salary packaging options.
