Medical Director of Clinical Operations

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director of Clinical Operations to join our team at New York State. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for providing operational oversight and clinical guidance in support of day-to-day functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical consultation to state-operated programs in conjunction with local Medical Directors, Directors of Nursing, and/or other Subject Matter Experts.
- Assist in conducting case conferences and educational sessions to medical/clinical staff to present information on complex cases and treatment strategies.
- May assist with discharge planning of individuals from various settings (medical/mental health hospitals, correctional facilities).
- Ensure regulatory compliance with all laws, rules, and regulations governing Intermediate Care Facilities.
- Provide technical assistance in responding to NYS Department of Health surveys and citations.
- Support the region in evaluating and establishing district policies and procedures that assure delivery of high-quality clinical/medical services.
- Develop and implement strategies for assessing and improving the quality of and appropriateness of care.
- Oversee the management of activities related to the delivery of medical care and clinical services such as cost management, utilization review, quality assurance, and medical protocol development.
Requirements:
- Possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.
- Six years of post-licensure medical practice experience, two years of which must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
