About the Role

UFS Healthcare Ltd. is seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to join our Merchandise Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales and gross margin performance of designated OTC categories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic category plans aligned to the organisational goals and financial targets.
  • Work closely with the Head of Merchandise to identify, develop and resource formal and informal initiatives to improve success for each designated category.
  • Develop strong collaborative working relationships between the Merchandise Team and store teams.
  • Execute category planograms by reviewing sales data and analytics to define each category's core range, reviewing and updating each category annually.
  • Negotiate prices and trading terms with suppliers.
  • Monitor and review stock levels and liaise with Purchasing Officer, Warehouse and stores as appropriate to rectify shortages or overstocks and/or timely movement of purchased stock.
  • Support and implement the rationalisation and deletion of underperforming, low turnover or low profit items.
  • Reporting including performance and budget alignment.
  • Develop merchandise range plan to ensure ranging covers all appropriate market segments in both product feature and price point.
  • Manage and drive new and existing suppliers to the business to obtain the best pricing, promotional and service delivery opportunities.
  • Make and drive stock pricing and purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain an awareness of current and new legislation to ensure business practices are complying with statutory and regulatory obligations.
Requirements
  • Formal qualifications in business (and/or related fields).
  • Experience in multistore/group buying.
  • Experience in category management.
  • Ability to develop strategic category plans that are aligned to the organisational goals.
  • Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy, including Microsoft applications (especially Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels with customers, staff and management.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision making abilities.
  • Negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • High level numeracy and report analysis skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and technical skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously within a team environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain strategic working relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated integrity, and an understanding of, and commitment to, the purpose and guiding principles of UFS Healthcare Ltd.
