The Corporate Affairs team plays a vital role in safeguarding and promoting the Group's reputation, supporting strategic objectives, and helping people connect with purpose.

As Executive Manager Media Relations, you'll be part of a high-performing team responsible for managing media engagement and issues across the Group. You will work closely with key stakeholders to deliver clear, consistent and impactful communication that builds trust and confidence in our brand.

This role is central to how we engage with the media and manage our reputation. You'll be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, helping shape and deliver media strategies that support business goals. Your contributions will help ensure our communications are aligned, timely and effective, making a real difference where it matters most.

  • Develop and execute media strategies that support business priorities and enhance the Group's reputation.
  • Provide strategic media advice and support to senior leaders and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage proactive and reactive media engagement, including issues and crisis communication.
  • Draft and review media materials, including press releases, briefing documents, and Q&A sessions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.
  • Monitor media coverage and provide insights to inform communication strategies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Corporate Affairs and the broader business to ensure alignment and consistency.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in media relations, journalism, corporate affairs or strategic communications, ideally within banking or financial services.
  • A deep understanding of the Australian media landscape and key industry dynamics.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
  • Proven ability to manage sensitive issues and crises with sound judgment and discretion.
