The role of Team Lead Invasive Species entails overseeing a team of biosecurity specialists responsible for the operational delivery of pest animal programs, travelling stock reserve management and plant biosecurity across the Murray region.

About The Role

This position involves coordinating key services, working collaboratively with other teams to deliver invasive species programs, leading regional strategic planning and implementation for pest animals and high-priority weeds in the Murray region. Key responsibilities include engaging a geographically dispersed and technically skilled team to implement pest animal, TSR work and weed control programs in partnership with landholders and stakeholders, as well as driving innovation and change into control programs to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

About You

We are seeking a results-driven individual who can deliver customer-focused outcomes, coordinate projects and associated responsibilities, inspire direction and purpose within your team, and recognize achievements. Your strong leadership skills, ability to drive change and lead teams toward effective outcomes, proven experience in program-level strategy development, operational planning and budget management, demonstrated understanding of the economic and environmental impacts of pest animals and weeds on land use, effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills, relevant qualifications and experience in pesticide application, capacity to hold a NSW firearms licence and a Statement of Attainment in the safe and humane use of firearms, eligibility and willingness to become an Authorised Officer under the Biosecurity Act 2015, and current NSW Class C Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout the region make you an ideal candidate for this role.

  • Relevant qualifications and experience in pesticide application
