About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Signalling Site Engineer to join our team on the Inland Rail Beveridge to Albury Tranche 2 Project. As a key member of our project team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful installation and commissioning of signalling systems on construction sites.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of signalling systems, collaborating with project teams to ensure seamless integration with other project elements, and conducting on-site inspections and quality checks to verify proper installation and functioning of signalling equipment.
Responsibilities- Design and Installation: Assist in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of signalling systems on construction sites, ensuring compliance with safety standards, project specifications, and industry regulations.
- Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with project teams, including engineers, contractors, and stakeholders, to ensure the seamless integration of signalling systems with other project elements.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks to verify the proper installation and functioning of signalling equipment, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to the project team, identifying any risks or delays and proposing mitigation measures.
- Documentation: Assist in the preparation and review of project documentation, including signalling designs, test plans, reports, and as-built drawings.
- Procurement and Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to coordinate the procurement, delivery, and installation of signalling equipment and materials.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Support the project team in resolving any technical challenges or issues related to signalling systems.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices in signalling engineering.
- Communication and Coordination: Maintain effective communication and coordination with clients, stakeholders, and relevant authorities regarding signalling system requirements, progress, and approvals.
- Resource Management: Adhere to project timelines and budget constraints, assisting in managing resources efficiently.
- Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, methodologies, and safety practices related to signalling engineering.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Signalling Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of signalling systems, including equipment, control systems, communication protocols, and industry standards. Familiarity with relevant software and tools used in signalling engineering. Understanding of safety regulations, risk management, and quality control procedures related to signalling systems.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team and stakeholders.
