About the Role
The University of Adelaide's School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering is seeking a strong and dedicated researcher and educator to join our team of active academics within the discipline of Mechanical Engineering. This is a continuing (tenure-track) academic role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research in Nuclear Engineering and/or Maritime Engineering, with a focus on areas such as hydroacoustics, modelling and computation, numerical and experimental hydrodynamics, naval nuclear propulsion, systems engineering, energy technologies, and fluid processes in maritime and nuclear or relevant industry applications.
- Develop and teach courses in nuclear and maritime engineering, with a focus on evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student learning.
- Supervise postgraduate students and attract research funding to support the School's research strengths.
- Contribute to the development of the School's research strategy and contribute to the School's research culture.
Requirements
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent, with expertise in nuclear and/or maritime engineering.
- Demonstrated research ability that supports the School's research strengths.
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively using evidence-based pedagogy that promotes student learning.
- Demonstrated ability to develop courses in nuclear and maritime engineering.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with both students and staff.
