About the Role

The People Analytics Engineer will play a crucial part in scaling and supporting the development of Canva's people data platform. This involves integrating new data sources from various systems, ensuring data reliability, accuracy, and consistency. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing end-to-end cloud data warehouse solutions, dimensional data modeling, and data governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data ingestion and transformation functions using SQL and Python.
  • Build semantic data models to support operational, analytical, and reporting needs.
  • Maintain and operate data infrastructure, including Fivetran, Snowflake, dbt, and Looker.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data ingestion, access, and modeling frameworks.
  • Apply data management and governance practices to ensure high levels of data quality and security.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in designing and developing cloud data warehouse solutions.
  • Dimensional data modeling skills, specializing in sourcing data from cloud-based ERP, HCM, and/or CRM platforms.
  • Familiarity with data governance and data management principles, including standardization and technical controls.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as Snowflake, dbt, and Fivetran.
  • Hands-on experience with CICD tools, PR processes, and API tools.
