Senior Scientist

Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Scientist to join our Blood Bank Department in our Bowen Hills laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering a training program for local and regional staff, ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient care.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in transfusion medicine and experience in a blood bank laboratory. You will be responsible for performing a range of routine and advanced blood bank tests, liaising with clients to ensure appropriate management of cases, and remotely assisting colleagues in regional laboratories to manage blood bank cases.

As a Senior Scientist, you will be expected to uphold quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to departmental quality system procedures and complying with the occupational health and safety policy and programs. You will also be responsible for satisfying the requirements of customers, both internal and external, through the provision of reliable and efficient service levels.

To be considered for this position, you will need to be degree-qualified in Medical Laboratory Science or a similar field, with specific experience gained in transfusion. You will have a proven ability to work methodically and accurately, prioritizing your workload and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

You will be an organized and self-motivated individual with well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. You will also have a strong commitment to quality and patient care, with a focus on delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment.
